Nigerian musicians are scaling themselves and representing the country and continent at large with their songs topping charts and various international nominations. Most recently, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) published a nominee list for the Image Awards set to hold on the 25th of February, 2023 and we could spot the names of our very own. Burna Boy was nominated for Best Outstanding Male Artiste category. His co-nominees were the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Chris Brown, Brent Faiyaz and Drake. Future’s “Wait for U” was nominated for Best Hip Hop Song, which earned Tems a nomination. For Best International Song, Wizkid and Davido both received nominations for their songs “Bad to Me” and “Stand Strong.”
