A large gathering of Musical entertainers from all over the African Continent converged at the Eko Convention Center in Lagos on the 11th of February, 2023 for the prestigious Soundcity MVP Awards 2023.
It was a historical event in Africa’s entertainment history as some of the biggest names in the music industry were recognized for their immense contribution.
Some of the winners includes Ruger who took home the award for Best New Artiste while Pheelz & BNXN Fka Buju won in the Best Collaboration category for “Finesse.” Oxlade’s “Ku Lo Sa” won the award for Listeners’ Choice while Rema won the Digital Artiste of the Year.
Asake won the Male MVP while Tems won the Female MVP of the Year. Magicsticks was recognized as the African Producer Of The Year for his work on “Organise.” Ajebo Hustlers took the glory for Best Group or Duo.
Fireboy took home the award for Best Pop for the remix of “Peru” with Ed Sheeran and TG Omori won the Video Of The Year award with Fireboy and Asake for “Bandana.” Song Of The Year was “Buga” by Kizz Daniel and Tekno and Burna Boy strengthened his African Giant title as he won the African Artiste Of The Year.
