CKay revealed via his Twitter account that’s single ‘Love Nwantiti’ achieved 4 times platinum on 13th January 2023. The single released in 2020 has one of the singles off CKay’s debut EP ‘CKay The First’ began gaining traction a year later on Tik Tok before ascending to an unprecedented level of international fame. ‘Love Nwantiti’ reached the summit of the chart in multiple countries including France, India, and Portugal. The song is the most streamed Afrobeats single of all time surpassing a billion streams on Spotify and YouTube.
‘Love Nwantiti’ went platinum in January 2022 before going double platinum in September of the same year. By selling over 4 million copies in the US, ‘Love Nwantiti’ holds the record for the most units sold by an Afrobeats song. It’s followed by Wizkid’s ‘Essence’ which is 3 times platinum.
