Naira Marley, the prominent figure in Afrobeats, has recently unveiled a fresh addition to his record label, Marlian Records.
Having made a significant impact on the Afrobeats mainstream in 2019, Naira Marley’s Marlian movement resonated deeply with young Nigerians nationwide.
Naira Marley took to his social media accounts on June 6, 2023, to announce the signing of a new talent to his record label. The latest signee, named Vusic, was introduced through a video where he can be seen passionately singing along, possibly to his debut single.
Vusic will join Naira Marley and the Street-Pop sensation Zinoleesky on the Marlian Records roster, as the label aims to replicate the success achieved by its other artists.
This signing comes in the wake of Mohbad’s departure from Marlian Music. Mohbad left the record label under strained circumstances, accusing Marlian Music and Naira Marley of assault and non-payment of royalties, despite having delivered several major hits.
Naira Marley has refuted Mohbad’s claims, and with the introduction of a new artist, he intends to continue exerting his influence on the Nigerian Street music scene, putting the past behind him.
